Sharing the spirit of white xmas…and my second snowman

UPDATES:  It is reported today, Dec 20, 2010 that Northern Ireland recorded its coldest night with a low of -18C at Castlesderg in County Tyrone. The previous officially accepted record of -17.5C was set on 01 January 1979 at Magherally (near Banbridge) in County Down.

TRIVIA:  Which country provides Britain with a Christmas tree for Trafalgar Square in London (UK)? It is NORWAY since 1947. It is a gratitude gesture for Britain’s support for Norway during World War II. The tree is a Norwegian Spruce (Picea Abies) which is more than 20 metres high and 50-60 years old from the forest in Oslo. The 2010 Christmas tree is lighted on the evening of 2 December and the Carol-singing program for this year is already fully booked which takes place from 7-22 December from 5-9pm.
