DID YOU THAT THE PHILIPPINES is one of the few nations that grows and produces four commercially-viable coffee varieties because of the country’s soil and climatic conditions. These four varieties include Arabica, Liberica (Barako), Excelsa and Robusta.

Interestingly to note that Lipa (Batangas) was the host of the first coffee tree introduced by a Spanish Franciscan monk in 1740; ultimately Lipa became the coffee capital of the Philippines. And currently, the country is producing 30,000 metric tons of coffee yearly.
